FM 159 Realignment

The TxDOT Bryan District is proposing to realign a segment of FM 159 from 5.3 miles N of SH 105 to 2.5 miles N of SH 105 in Brazos County, Texas. The project proposes to realign a segment of FM 159 on a new location near Allen Farm and Hidalgo Falls to avoid the northward progression of the Brazos River which is approaching the existing alignment in this area.

The proposed improvements include:

  • Shifting the existing FM 159 roadway alignment approximately 0.25 miles north.
  • Reconfiguring the existing FM 159 to a two-lane roadway with 11-foot travel lanes and 6-foot outside shoulders.
  • Constructing two new roadway bridges over the BNSF railroad.

The proposed project requires approximately 50 acres of right of way acquisition.
