TxDOT Awards Contracts for District Projects

DALLAS DISTRICT  In an ongoing effort to enhance state roadways and address congestion, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) approved five contract awards for projects in the Dallas District for roadway improvements.

“Like all of Texas, the urban areas of our state will continue to see rapid population growth,” said Commissioner Victor Vandergriff. “Relieving congestion on our roadways not only improves our quality of life, but also enhances economic opportunities. We are pleased to partner with state and local entities who share our vision of keeping Texas moving.”

Contracts awarded:

  • Collin County:
    • Base repair and overlay on SH 5 from FM 546 to US 380 in McKinney. The $1.04 million contract was awarded to Peachtree Construction, LTD.
    • Provide additional paved surface width on FM 546 from west of Crossing Road to FM 982. The $5.9 million contract was awarded to Jagoe-Public Company.
    • Replace bridge and approaches on FM 1378 from south of White Rock Creek to south of Vinecrest /Jessica Lane. The $1.7 million contract was awarded to Accelerated Critical Path, Inc.
  • Kaufman County:
    • Rehabilitate frontage roads and ramps on US 80 from FM 460 to Spur 557. The $9.6 million contract was awarded to Apac-Texas, Inc.
  • Ellis County:
    • Rehabilitate existing pavement on FM 55 from SH 34 to Nash Howard Road. The $5.5 million contract was awarded to Big Creek Construction, LTD.

Construction start dates will be established in upcoming meetings between TxDOT and the contractors.
