Work set to begin next week
BIG SPRING — The Texas Department of Transportation is set to begin a project next week to resurface about three and a half miles of US 87.
Work will include pavement repairs, seal coat and overlay from RM 33 to the southern point of FM 700. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction for sections as long as two miles, including at night. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution in the work zone and to remain alert for workers and equipment in the area. The project is expected to be completed by early 2014.
Price Construction LTD of Big Spring was contracted to complete the work for $2.2 million.
