SH 121 (present-day SH 26) completed from Fort Worth to Grapevine.

1939
SH 183 (present-day SH 10) completed from SH 121 to the Dallas County line.

1966
Northeast Loop I-820 completed from SH 121 to I-35W.

1969
Spur 350 (present-day SH 183) completed from the SH 121 split to west of SH 360 at a cost of $4.8 million.

1970
New SH 121(Airport Freeway) completed from I-820 to SH 121 split including interchange with I-820 at a cost of $5.3 million.

1979
SH 183 is re-designated SH 10.

1979
SH 121 from I-820 to the SH 121 split is co-designated SH 183; Spur 350 is re-designated SH 183.

1980
SH 121 from I-820 to SH 114 is re-designated SH 26.

1983
The new SH 121 alignment to Grapevine completed as frontage roads at a cost of $13 million.

1988
SH 121 main lanes open from SH 183 to SH 114 at a cost of $29 million.

1989
SH 183 expanded from four lanes to six lanes from SH 360 to the Dallas County line, including the removal of the Amon Carter runway bridge over SH 183 at a cost of $32 million.

2000
SH 161 direct connections completed to SH 183.

2001
I-820/SH 121/SH 26/FM 1938 Northeast Interchange completed at a cost of $92 million.

2006
The Commission approves SH 183, I-820 and I-35W to be studied as potential comprehensive development agreements to accelerate their expansion; together, they are named the North Tarrant Express.
