Purpose | The purpose of the public meeting is to present the proposed project to the public and receive comments. The project is proposing improvements along FM 359 from FM 1093 to Mason Road in Fort Bend County, Texas. The virtual and in-person meeting will consist of the same narrated presentation by the project team, project exhibits and other information, and an opportunity to comment. |
Description | The proposed improvements to FM 359 would include the reconstruction and widening of the existing roadway from two lanes to four lanes, and the construction of shared use paths to accommodate bicyclist and pedestrians. The improvements would also include 12-foot-wide left-turn lanes in various locations and the construction of a typical 18-foot-wide raised median (the proposed median width varies). The number of lanes may vary along the project limits to accommodate turning movements at various intersections and driveways. The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional right-of-way and potentially displace one residence and seven non-residential structures. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. Information about the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program and services and benefits for those displaced and other affected property owners, as well as information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction, may be obtained from the TxDOT District office by calling (713) 802-5775. |
