In Person: Dayton Community Center (300 Ballroom B and D) located at 801 South Cleveland St., Dayton, TX 77535
Purpose:
TxDOT and the City of Dayton are proposing to install a raised median from SH 146 to FM 1409 in Liberty County, Texas. This notice advises the public that TxDOT will be conducting an online virtual public meeting on the proposed project with an in-person option. In-person attendees will be able to view the same presentation delivered in the online public meeting, which will be playing on a screen, review hard copies of project materials, ask questions from a socially-distanced approach and leave written comments. All comments must be received on or before Wed., Dec. 1, 2021, to be part of the public meeting record.
Description:
The proposed improvements include:
- Add a painted median and a raised median with dedicated 14-foot left-turn lanes and would replace the two-way left-turn lane
- Design the raised median to vary in width from two feet to 20 feet; the painted median will vary in width from 22 feet to 45 feet
- Repair drainage areas
The proposed project is recommended to improve safety due to the number of accidents from the past four years, along US 90 through Dayton. The proposed project would occur entirely within the existing right of way and would not result in any displacements.
Special Accommodations:
The virtual public meeting and in-person option will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs.
