Annual renewal is governed by Section 9.33 of Title 43 in the Texas Administration Code (TAC).
As of April 1, 2011, firms precertified in one or more categories for engineering, surveying, or architecture services must complete the annual renewal process between January 1 and March 31 each year to maintain "Active" status for the firm.
Precertified firms that have not completed the annual renewal processing by the renewal deadline will be "Inactive" until the renewal process is completed. The annual renewal deadline is March 31 of each year.
Active status is required for precertified prime and subprovider firms proposed for precertified work categories in a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ). Active status for applicable firms must be obtained by the SOQ due date shown in the Request for Qualifications.
The renewal process is completed through the Consultant Certification Information System (CCIS) for all precertified firms.
Most precertified firms have assigned at least one employee with security access to enter the CCIS Online System. To complete the brief Annual Renewal process, the user logs into the system and clicks the CCIS System Help option at the top of the page to access the CCIS Help Guide. Detailed instructions for completing the renewal process are located under Section 6 of the guide.
