Specific plans for I-69 major roadway improvements and relief routes have not been decided. However, using the recommendations and guiding principles of the I-69 Advisory and Segment Committees, TxDOT is reviewing existing highways along the I-69 Texas route and working with the Federal Highway Administration and other partners to get suitable existing freeway sections designated as I-69. Currently there is funding for some local-level I-69 project development to begin studying roadway improvements. Specific plans for developing I-69 will require public input and studying the surrounding environmental features including businesses, homes, schools, churches and other property.
