Please join the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in spreading the word about the dangers of drinking and driving.
Alcohol-related crashes are a serious problem in Texas. In 2012, there were 25,081 alcohol-related crashes. About one third of all annual traffic-related fatalities are caused by drinking and driving.
Statistics show young, Hispanic males between the ages of 18 - 34 are especially prone to higher crash rates in Texas, accounting for nearly half (47%) of all alcohol-related crashes. We also have a growing Hispanic population in Texas that may not be aware of our drunk-driving laws.
TxDOT is continuing its statewide campaign to raise awareness of the consequences of drinking and driving and to promote sober driver designation in the Hispanic community.
The public service announcements below remind Spanish-speaking Texans that if you drink and drive, you will go to jail.
