Early Tribal Coordination Tool

ETCT overview

Through a partnership with the Texas Historical Commission, TxDOT launched an online password protected portal that uses GIS to give real-time access to TxDOT projects with archeological sites. The Early Tribal Coordination Tool (ETCT) is one way tribes can participate early in the transportation planning process. This resource is only for federally recognized tribes with whom TxDOT consults. Tribes can receive log-in information by contacting us.

The directions for using the ETCT are available.

TxDOT consults with 26 federally recognized tribes on archeological sites.

Environmental documentation

Tribes can also access TxDOT’s environmental records through the Environmental Compliance Oversight System (ECOS), which includes copies of archeological reports and consultation records. To request log-in information, contact us.
