Open House - Improvements to SH 146/SH 3 in Galveston County

| Purpose: | To provide the public with the opportunity to learn more about proposed improvements to the SH 146/SH 3 intersection in Galveston County. The public can view the recommended project exhibits, talk with staff and give input on proposed improvements. Citizens may come and go at their convenience. | ||
| Description: | The proposed improvements would expand the existing two-lane undivided portions of SH 146 at the Texas City Terminal and Union Pacific railroads and the existing SH 146/SH 3 intersection to a four-lane railroad bridge and elevated SH3/SH 146 intersection. The proposed project is designed to improve safety during evacuation events, increase mobility by expanding the roadway and improve regional connectivity between Galveston and Texas City and La Marque. Approximately 7.6 acres of additional right of way would be required for the project and some displacements would occur. Funding has not been identified. The public is encouraged to attend this meeting and mail comments to the Director of Project Development or submit comments online on or before Nov. 26, 2013. |
