Public Hearing - Elysian Viaduct Project

Purpose: A public hearing regarding the reconstruction and improvements of the Elysian Viaduct (Bridge Structure) from Brooks Street to Commerce Street, in Houston. Preliminary engineering studies, environmental studies and the recommended alignment will be presented for public input. 

Exhibits showing the proposed location and design will be available for viewing at 6 p.m. and the formal presentation will begin at 7 p.m.
 

Description: Proposed project would consist of the following:
  • Replacing and widening the bridge structure to accommodate paved shoulders and increase the structural integrity to current design standards as well as improving the roadway approaches
  • A four-lane roadway with shoulders within a varying right of way (ROW) width from 90 feet to 120 feet
  • A five-foot wide sidewalk along the northbound lanes (east side) between Runnels and Ruiz Streets.

The length of the proposed project is approximately 1.4 miles.
