Smith spent his entire 29 year TxDOT career working in the Eastland office
EASTLAND – Larry G. Smith, P.E., TxDOT Eastland Area Engineer, is retiring effective June 30 after serving the citizens of Texas for 29 years.
Smith joined TxDOT in 1988 as the assistant area engineer in the Eastland Area Office, and was promoted to area engineer in 2001. As area engineer, Smith managed TxDOT’s Eastland Area Office and oversaw all construction and maintenance activities on state and federal roadways in Eastland, Comanche and Stephens counties.
Smith received his civil engineering degree from Texas Tech University, and became a licensed professional engineer (P.E.) in 1987. Smith is also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving as a boom operator on a KC-135 Stratotanker refueling aircraft.
Smith plans to spend his retirement spending time with his family. TxDOT’s Brownwood District thanks Larry for a successful career.
