TxDOT Awards Contracts for District Projects

DALLAS DISTRICT — In an ongoing effort to enhance state roadways and address congestion, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) approved 10 contract awards for projects in the Dallas District including the replacement of the bridge and approaches on Marsalis Avenue over Fivemile Creek. The contract was awarded to Massana Construction Inc. for $2.9 million.

"Like all of Texas, the urban areas of our state will continue to see rapid population growth," said Commissioner Victor Vandergriff. "Relieving congestion on our roadways not only improves our quality of life, but also enhances economic opportunities. We are pleased to partner with state and local entities who share our vision of keeping Texas moving."

Other contracts awarded:

  • Milling, overlay and pavement markings on SH 78 between Winslow Avenue and Shadyside Lane in Dallas County. The $1.04 million contract was awarded to O. Trevino Construction, LLC.
  • Intersection improvements on US 75 between Midpark Road and the President George Bush Turnpike in Dallas County. The $991,603.70 contract was awarded to O. Trevino Construction, LLC.
  • Milling, full depth repair and overlay on US 175 between I-20 and the Kaufman County Line in Dallas. The $2.7 million contract was awarded to O. Trevino Construction, LLC.
  • Construction of curb ramps at various locations in Dallas County. The $2.2 million contract was awarded to Encino Landscape, Inc.
  • Construct two-lane westbound frontage road on I-635 at Beltline Road in Dallas County. The $2.08 million contract was awarded to Ed Bell Construction Company.
  • Replace existing bridge and approaches at FM 455 at Clear Creek in Denton County. The $3.3 million contract was awarded to Austin Bridge and Road, LP.
  • Base repair, level up and overlay of FM 551 from SH 276 to SH 66 in Rockwall County. The $5.3 million contract was awarded to Ed Bell Construction Company.
  • Construct additional paved surface width on FM 2728 from SH 34 to FM 429 North in Kaufman County. The $9.4 million contract was awarded to Ed Bell Construction Company.
  • Rehabilitate existing roadway on FM 3039 from FM 1389 to FM 148 in Kaufman County. The $3.9 million contract was awarded to A.L. Helmcamp, Inc.

Construction start dates will be established in upcoming meetings between TxDOT and the contractors.
