PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that contractor Highway 19 Construction LLC will soon begin replacing the bridge across the West Fork of Pilot Grove Creek on FM 121 in Grayson County.
The construction will require motorists on FM 121 to detour around the bridge site beginning Sept. 6.
The contractor will replace the old bridge at this location and rebuild both approaches to the bridge, TxDOT officials said. They anticipate a new bridge will be in place in March 2017, weather permitting.
Motorists who frequently travel FM 121 in this area are advised to use alternate routes whenever possible. TxDOT officials also requested that motorists drive according to road conditions, reduce their speed when they encounter work zones and be alert for signs, barricades and other traffic controls when traveling.
