Drive Clean Texas

Texas is a state with more than 20 million licensed vehicles and a population that loves to drive. Our love affair with automobiles has meant that, in some areas of the state, emissions from cars and trucks make up half of all the air pollution.

The Texas Department of Transportation and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality launched the statewide Drive Clean Texas initiative in 2001, with the goal of raising awareness about the impact of vehicle emissions on air quality and motivating drivers to take steps to help keep the air clean.
