AUSTIN — Taking business on the road, the Texas Department of Transportation and its partners are holding the next Task Force on Texas' Energy Sector Roadway Needs meeting and open house in Laredo.

The task force, made up of representatives from the Department of Public Safety, the Department of Motor Vehicles, the Railroad Commission, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, counties, and the energy and trucking sectors, is challenged with developing long-term funding strategies and plans to address infrastructure concerns well into the future.


The Texas Department of Transportation is responsible for maintaining 80,000 miles of road and for supporting aviation, rail, and public transportation across the state. TxDOT and its 12,000 employees are committed to working with others to provide safe and reliable transportation solutions for Texas by maintaining a safe system, addressing congestion, connecting Texas communities, and being a Best in Class state agency.
