Population explosion overloads small farm-to-market road
FRISCO — In an ongoing effort to enhance state roadways and address congestion, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) approved a contract award for a Denton County road improvement project.
The City of Frisco has increased rapidly in population making FM 423, a two-lane rural roadway, into a heavily traveled connector to US 75 via Eldorado Parkway. The $29.8 million project will widen the road to a six-lane, divided-median urban roadway between US 380 and FM 2934 (Eldorado Parkway). The 3.4 mile project was awarded to MCM.
Construction start dates will be established in upcoming meetings between TxDOT and the contractors.
