FORT WORTH — As part of the Chisholm Trail Parkway construction, crews are scheduled to complete the remaining bridge demolition of the SH 183 overpass at Bryant Irvin Road the night of Tuesday, Jan. 8.  During the demolition, all traffic on Bryant Irvin Road at SH 183 will be detoured (see map) and motorists should expect delays.  Access to local businesses will be maintained and police officers will be present to direct traffic along the detour routes.

The existing SH 183 main lanes will not be affected by this demolition event.  One lane in each direction will remain open over Bryant Irvin Road.  Following this demolition, crews will build the new permanent eastbound SH 183 bridge over Bryant Irvin Road in the next four to five months.

The $117 million access improvement project at I-20/SH 183 is in preparation for the future SH 121/Chisholm Trail Parkway.  The project will construct several new bridges, access ramps and new SH 121/Chisholm Trail Parkway frontage roads as well as lowering and rebuilding the SH 183 main lanes.  Completion is scheduled for Spring 2013.

Alternate routes are advised.
