FM 2100 from SH 99 to Huffman Cleveland Road

The TxDOT Houston District is proposing improvements to FM 2100 from the future SH 99 to Huffman Cleveland Road (North) in Huffman, Harris County, Texas. The purpose of the proposed project is to accommodate future anticipated traffic demand and growth in the region, while improving safety by providing a divided highway with raised medians and dedicated left turn turnouts at select intersections. The length of the proposed project is approximately 5.7 miles.

Current conditions

The existing FM 2100 roadway consists of two 12-foot-wide travel lanes (one in each direction), 0- to 4-foot-wide outside shoulders, ditches, and no sidewalks or bicycle accommodations. The existing right of way (ROW) in this section of the project is approximately 60 to 150 feet in width.

Proposed improvements

Proposed improvements include the following:

  • Widening the two-lane roadway to four lanes by adding one 12-foot-wide travel lane in each direction
  • Widening the outside shoulders to 12 feet in width, adding an 18-foot-wide raised median, and adding 5-foot-wide sidewalks in each direction

The roadway would also have open ditches with one detention pond.

The proposed ROW varies between 200 and 220 feet in width, depending on the location within the project limits.
