In the interest of safety, the Texas Department of Transportation is adding a center left-turn lane, bike lanes and sidewalks to state Highway 39 between state Highway 27 and the Ingram Dam. The $8.58 million expansion began in January 2013 and will be finished by fall 2014.

When construction is finished, the following improvements to help families more safely navigate the corridor each day:

• Addition of a center turn lane
• Addition of bike lanes and sidewalks on both sides of the road
• Construction of a new bridge on Cade Loop
• A widened bridge over Johnson Creek
• Improved and updated intersection and traffic signals at state Highway 27 and state Highway 39
