General Counsel Division

The General Counsel Division provides legal counsel to the Texas Transportation Commission and TxDOT administration, districts and divisions. The division drafts administrative rules, testifies before legislative committees, and serves as legal counsel at commission meetings. 

The division also assists the attorney general's office in providing legal representation of, and for, TxDOT and the Texas Transportation Commission and handles the service of process on nonresidents involved in motor vehicle accidents on public roads.
