Public Transportation grants - state and FTA
TxDOT's Public Transportation Division administers state and Federal Transit Administration grant programs for public transportation. These grants are for specific purposes and have separate eligibility and funding requirements. The Public Transportation Division requests applications for specific grant funding sources through calls for projects.

2025 Regional Public Transportation Coordination Plan Continuation Grants
The Public Transportation Division requests applications from the designated lead agencies for the planning regions in Texas for funding to continue planning activities begun during the revision of the 2022-2026 coordination plans for FY 2025 funding.
The applications are available in IGX starting on July 28, 2025. Below are links to instructions and related information. Applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. CST on August 15, 2025. The Public Transportation Division (PTN) will offer a webinar on August 5 to provide information on the application process, as outlined in the schedule below. Applicants are able to ask questions during the webinars. See the Instructions document for more information on opportunities to ask questions.

Regionally Coordinated Public Transportation Planning 5 Year Plan Update
The Public Transportation Division requests applications from the designated lead agencies for the planning regions in Texas for funding to update the Regional Public Transportation Coordination Plans 5 Year Plans for 2027-2031. The applications are available in IGX starting on February 24, 2025. Applications must be submitted via the PTN IGX system.
Applications must be received no later than 5:00 PM Central Time on March 28, 2025. Below are links to instructions and related information. The Public Transportation Division (PTN) will offer an MS Teams meeting on February 27 to provide information on the application process. Information on how to join and other important program dates are in the application instructions. Do not mail hard copies of applications or support letters to TxDOT.

2025 Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program (Section 5310)
The Public Transportation Division (PTN) requests applications for projects relating to FTA's Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program (49 U.S.C. 5310). The applications are available in IGX starting on February. 3, 2025. Applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. CST on March 10, 2025. Below are links to instructions and related information. PTN will offer a MS Teams meeting covering the application and will post responses to written questions concerning this call on the TxDOT website. This application opportunity is for a two-year period, the award cycle is for FY 2026 - 2027.
