Public Hearing - SH 105 at FM 1774

Purpose: TxDOT will hold a public hearing to present proposed improvements to the intersection of SH 105 at FM 1774 in Plantersville.
   
Description: Proposed improvements include:
  • Building an improved at-grade intersection of SH 105 at FM 1774; the limits extend from 0.53-miles west of FM 1774 to 0.65-miles east of FM 1774
  • Improving safety through flattening vertical and horizontal curves in the roadway (which will improve sight distance), and constructing a safety median separating traffic
TxDOT previously planned to construct an above-grade interchange of SH 105, with FM 1774 bridging over the existing roadway. Although this design may be warranted in the future, TxDOT is currently electing to build an improved at-grade intersection (an intersection that is not elevated) of SH 105 at FM 1774 – based on public feedback that preferred an at-grade separation, as well as safety concerns.

Approximately 10.5 acres of additional right-of-way will be required to accommodate the improved intersection. There would be no relocation of homes or businesses. Construction is tentatively targeted to begin in the summer of 2015.

TxDOT staff will display the plan and will be available to discuss the project; a presentation will also be provided.  The public is encouraged to attend and provide comments. Please review the Aug. 24, 2010 public meeting for more information also.

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 17, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
