Open House - I-45 Central Walker County

Purpose:
The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input on the proposed plans to enhance freight mobility and address congestion along the I-45 corridor. The project limits are from SH 19 to 2 miles north of SH 75, with a length of approximately 9 miles.
Description:
The proposed improvements include the following:
- Replace existing mainlane pavement with new pavement
- Widen to six travel lanes (three north and three south) with a center concrete traffic barrier instead of a grass median
- Add collector-distributor roads
- Extend and replace drainage
- Replace most existing bridges
- Reconstruct ramps to current standards
- Reconstruct frontage roads and crossroads adjacent to new ramps and interchanges
Comments may be made at the meeting or in writing by Dec. 16, 2016.
The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
