Public Meeting - Loop 375 Border Highway West Extension Project

Where: University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP)
El Paso Natural Gas Conference Center
Wiggins Road
El Paso, TX 79924
(across from the UTEP Library)

When: Thursday, December 8, 2011
4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Purpose: The purpose of the meeting is to provide information about the proposed project as well as to inform the public that the project limits have changed since the last public scoping meetings were held in October 2007.

Description: The proposed Loop 375 Border Highway West Extension Project would begin at Park Street near downtown El Paso and extend to Racetrack Drive near its intersection with Doniphan Road. The proposed project would provide a continuous route with a project length of approximately 8 miles.

The proposed project would add capacity and upgrade the existing facility by providing a new four-lane, partially-controlled access facility that may follow portions of the existing Loop 375 or US 85. The proposed project would close the gap on Loop 375 that exists from Santa Fe Street downtown to US 85. Due to funding constraints and legislative guidance, tolling would be considered as a funding option for the primary facility; however, all current non-tolled lanes would remain non-tolled.
