Public Meeting - FM 517 in Brazoria and Galveston Counties

Where:	Calder Road Elementary School Cafeteria 6511 Calder Road League City, TX 77573	When:	Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Where:	Hood Case Elementary School Cafeteria 1450 Heights Road Alvin, TX 77511	When:	Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Purpose:	The purpose of the meeting is to present and receive input from the public on three alternatives for the proposed FM 517 project from SH 35 to FM 646 in Brazoria and Galveston counties, Texas. The meetings will be held in two locations, with each meeting presenting the same information.

Description:	The proposed improvements include widening the existing two-lane facility to four lanes, including: Two 12-foot-wide travel lanes in each direction 18-foot-wide raised median with turn lanes 5-foot-wide sidewalks throughout project limits The proposed project also includes the conversion of FM 517 to a curb and gutter system with open vegetated ditches. The proposed project would require additional right of way and include potential displacements. The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014 and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
