I-35 Selma
More than 130,000 vehicles travel Interstate 35 between Farm to Market 3009 and Loop 1604, making it one of San Antonio’s most congested corridors.
In order to address the congestion and improve the safety in this area, TxDOT will build auxiliary lanes (a lane for those entering and exiting the Interstate) along this area, reconfigure the exit and entrance ramps to promote a free flow of traffic and construct turnaround features at a handful of intersections (including FM 3009).
The 18-month project is expected to cost $23.99 million to build and began mid-October 2012. Funding for the project comes from traditional sources, including state and federal motor fuels taxes and state registration fees.
