| Purpose |
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Houston District and the City of Webster are proposing to construct an extension of NASA 1 from just south of FM 528 to approximately 0.25 mile west of Interstate Highway 45 (I-45) at North Landing Boulevard, in the cities of League City and Webster, Harris County, Texas. This notice is affording an opportunity to comment as part of the environmental review process for this project. If you are a property owner, you are receiving this notice because records indicate that you own property that (1) would be acquired (in part or in whole) for this project or (2) is adjacent to the project. This notice and opportunity to comment is also being provided to affected local governments and public officials. |
| Description | The proposed project would construct a roadway on new location, consisting of four (4) 12-foot wide lanes (two in each direction), divided by a raised median that varies from 4 feet to 32 feet in width, from just south of FM 528 to approximately 0.25 mile west of I-45 at N. Landing Boulevard. The proposed project would also include a roundabout (traffic circle), a 5-foot-wide sidewalk, a 10-foot-wide shared-used path (SUP), and an approximately 1.5-acre detention basin. The proposed project is approximately 0.65 mile in length and would require approximately 10 acres of new right of way, plus approximately an additional one (1) acre of permanent easement. This proposed extension of NASA 1 is anticipated to provide enhanced connectivity and transition to W. NASA Boulevard and I-45 via Landing Blvd. Although additional right of way would be required, no residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time.
